About Me

Welcome to my page for History 390! I'm an Anthropology student with a love for folklore, mythology and ancient civilizations. When I'm not delving into my many interests, I can be found hiding in library stacks studying or enjoying a sunny day in any of the local parks.

Anthropology is the holistic study of humanity. Theology and cultural customs have always intrigued me especially when interpeting them through women lead context. All aspects of myth have a purpose whether to warn, praise or serve as entertainment and I want to focus on their general stories.

I am studying folklore as it pertains to the societal expectations and perceptions of women because I want to find out how it impacted the foundation of the patriarchy to grasp a better understanding of how women are oppressed in a society that sees women going against the grain as radical and intrinsically dangerous. I want to show you how women have been consistently used to show the fears of men who historically have put women down to exploit them and uphold patriarchal standards to explain the plight of womanhood throughout history and folklore.
