Reflection

I have adored the process of making my website. The research portion as always was my favorite part. I do wish that we went over more ways on how to research in class but there was enough time for me to fully fledge out four different mythological figures while remaining close to the word count. The skills assessment portion of the class was most likely the most difficult for me because there were often times I needed more material to work with to meet the requirements for the assignment. Such as the timeline which I believe to be a good factor for my website but I couldn’t make 12 points to reach the requirement because my mythological creatures mostly exist outside the bounds of time. I did not like completing the Flourish assignments either because they felt almost like busy work as they didn’t contribute to my assignment at all. Originally I wanted to do a 5th woman but due to time constraints, it was not possible this semester. I feel as if my exhibit is missing a component because of the missing 5th monster. Overall, I didn't run into many complications besides time constraints or the usual technical error and I thoroughly enjoyed myself while completing the task given. I organized my site based on the theme. I originally had a different approach to the navigation style for the project but decided to change course based on the project requirements. I still wanted my site to look clean and easy to navigate for anyone who may come across it which was the reason I chose my theme to begin with. Within my exhibit, I knew I wanted Baba Yaga to go last because she is such a fascinating character for me personally but she is also my most well-researched character. I am most familiar with her and I wanted to make sure she was presented in the correct light. Lastly, I chose to portray my timeline and Story Map together within the exhibit because I am most proud of the work I did with the two of them and they mesh the best with my overall exhibit. I’m grateful for the opportunity I was given to create something in the digital world. I hope to keep advancing my site beyond this semester, potentially. I want the site to be perfect and reflect the interest I take in iconic lore. Thank you for your instruction throughout the semester.
